In a sense, Urban Times is a magazine of exposés-but not in the traditional sense of scandal and corruption. Urban Times is uncovering the art, the creation, the scene, the vibrant underbelly of a city reawakening. These pages are full of life and activity and invite the reader to participate in it. More than anything, Urban Times wants Kansas Citians to know that this city is alive and thriving and invite them to participate in its renaissance. Hearing the heartbeat of downtown is what our writers do best.

Founded by Christina Boveri, Urban Times is distributed directly every month to an equally impassioned reader base, ultimately reaching 90,000 consumers and business owners and engaging an ideal cross-section of the city’s influencers and trendsetters. Urban Times also provides a new opportunity for dialogue with consumers in a highly targeted area in a context previously nonexistent to advertisers via local media.

As the Urban Core explodes with life and potential, it must have a voice. A voice that is not afraid to say what isn’t being said. A voice that will trumpet the city’s accomplishments from its newly redeveloped rooftops. A voice from the street that whispers to the passerby, “This is something big”. Urban Times is that voice.
